This non-accredited course is designed for medical students, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in gaining advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in echocardiography. The theoretical portion covers the fundamentals of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiogram principles, including different types of echocardiograms (transthoracic, transesophageal) and their diagnostic applications. Participants will learn how to interpret echocardiographic images, understand pathologies, and evaluate heart function through comprehensive lectures and case studies.
The practical portion spans 5-days and takes place in a leading cardiac clinic in Toronto, where participants will work alongside some of the top echocardiographers in the city. During this hands-on training, participants will have the opportunity to practice performing echocardiograms, gain experience with state-of-the-art equipment, and enhance their clinical skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. This course provides both theoretical depth and practical expertise, equipping participants to confidently apply their knowledge in a clinical setting.
